My first 1O Miler bike ride
Well I went on my first 10 miler yesterday I have been working up to it. I did very well!!!! I was surprised that it was as easy as it was. I was thinking that I would have to get off the bike and rest or something, but that was not the case at all. I will admit though, I did get off once. But if you could see the hill you probably would too. I spoke with a friend who is an avid biker and she said she doesn't make it up it. It's CRAZY steep. I have tried it before, and it was hard of course. I was able to make it to the top when I was fresh... well really close to the top. So this time I thought I would be able to go all the way up, but come to find out I only make it half way Augh!!! This time the hill was in last mile of my 10 so I was tired :) at least that's my excuse :)Well I am excited to report that I have found my camera charger so I now be able to take some pictures for my blog!! I am going to have my husband take some for me today!
I had planned to lake swim today but it is suppose to rain and I don't like the idea of being in a giant conductor in the rain, it just doesn't seem wise! So instead I might go for another Bike ride. I want to make it a full 13 miler today so I know what I have in store for myself on the 18th, though I haven't ran for a while and I need to also do a full 5k so I remember what that feels like.

Why I got started!!!

So this is me! In this pic I am at St. Edwards park goofing off with camera angles (husband at the camera), hoping to make myself look thinner. Non of it worked but it was fun!!!
I am starting out this blog with a quick explanation of why I decided to take the plunge to make a blog, my best friend writes blogs and she has found much joy in it. She keeps telling me of all the ways it has helped her in her goals and I though I would try it out myself. So here goes :)
I am writing this blog to track the new challenge I have set for myself. I want to become a Triathlete! I eventually want to run an Iron man but that is something I see as a looooooong term goal. For those of you who don't know what that in tells, let me enlighten you!!! That is about a 2 1/2 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride and a 26 mile run!!!! The fastest woman last year ran the Iron man in 9 hours, HOURS!!!!! That is a long time to continuously be competing and moving!
Anyway, back on subject! I have been training (lightly) for my first Triathlon and want to kick things up a notch for the last month and a week I have to train! So wish me luck! I will be posting my workout and food schedule and I will be tell more about my self and my family as soon as I can (hopefully later today), it's lunch time and the natives are restless.
